This is a fully carved octave mandolin with a slightly deeper carved Swiss spruce soundboard. It has a very (very!) loud, rich and deep tone that is well balanced across all strings. It is the best sounding octave mandolin I have played. The deep Swiss spruce 'moonwood' and the tiger myrtle back makes it very resonant, producing natural reverb and long sustain. The sound is superb through my AER amplifier with the K&K pickups really doing it justice. It measures 32 mm at the nut and has a nicely figured neck that matches the body.
